About the Kettle Moraine Studio Tour
Artists Tom Rauschke, Kaaren Wiken, Jeff Noska, Barbara Reinhart, and Bill Lemke started the Kettle Moraine Studio Tour in 1999. Over the years it has featured eleven different artists’ Studios and over 32 different guest artists.
A premiere Art Tour of Southeastern Wisconsin, the Kettle Moraine Studio Tour is a popular annual event, always the second full weekend in October. The Studios will be open for your self-guided tour though the beautiful Kettle Moraine featuring well-known local artists. The admission is free.
The Tour is anchored in part by two sets of well-known Wisconsin artist couples, Noska & Reinhart, Rauschke & Wiken.
At Jeff Noska and Barbara Reinhart’s Composite Clay Studio near Dousman, Jeff will be displaying his wonderfully functional stoneware and architectural ceramics while Barbara presents her beautiful figurative sculptures and paintings, fit for home and gallery. Both Jeff and Barbara are Associate Professors at UWW and are active in educating the next generation of potters, painters, and sculptors.
Tom Rauschke and Kaaren Wiken may be found at Xn-trix Studio outside Palmyra, home to Kaaren’s wandering herds, flocks, and packs of metal animals, some native to the Kettle Moraine. In the 1860’s restored Barn, Tom’s shop and gallery is sure to enchant with his latest stories and visions in wood.
The Photo Studio of nationally recognized photographer William Lemke rounds out the nucleus of this long-standing Art Tour. While proficient with both black & white and color photography, it is his work with the landscape in black & white that has made him the “Ansel Adams” of our time.
Various Guest Artists appear each year at the studios.
